| | Exterior | | | | It is a grade 2 listed building and was originally constructed in 1935 as the Nurses Home for the Royal Masonic Hospital which lies to the rear. It was designed by a famous Architect, Sir Bernard Tate who was well known for designing hospitals. When the hospital was first opened it was the forerunner of a new way of treating patients. The building was paid for by the Masons and all the plaques on the doors show the names and badges of the Masonic Lodges who provided the money for the construction. The hospital was opened by King George IV and Queen Mary. |
